In this weeks SVG design tutorial, I show you how to create a hand drawn wreath in Adobe Illustrator completely from scratch. I use a Wacom Graphics tablet linked below.
Shapes. Designs look a lot more complex when they’re finished but many designs are built upon simple shapes. Combining shapes, subtracting a shape from another, modifying a shape, using an existing shape as a starting point to make another, these all are basics to build off that enable you to create pumpkin faces like I show in this tutorial.
In this video I share: how I use Procreate to hand-drawn designs, how to transform the design from a JPG into a vector in Adobe Illustrator, how to modify that design as a vector using anchors and other tools in AI, and how to apply a previously designed grunge pattern.
I designed this christmas tree svg last week using the Procreate app on the iPad Pro using an Apple Pencil. I'm going to convert this over into Adobe Illustrator to turn it into a cut file for Cricut and Silhouette Cameo cutting machines. Cut file design is so fun!
