One of the most frustrating parts of owning an online creative business is having designs copied or stolen.

This has happened to me several times and is a common problem my clients face every day. We spend hours creating the perfect, unique piece. We finally get that “Bestseller” badge we’ve been hoping for on Etsy, and all of a sudden one day we are roaming the web and.. BAMM! There’s our bestseller?!!

But wait…. it’s not on our website or shop. It is on someone else’s! And what’s worse, they are taking credit for the design and selling it as their own!
All our hard earned work, all our creativity, all the talent. Claimed by another.

This is one downside to owning a creative business but another is online criticism. Some of you I know are bloggers, or maybe you post video tutorials on the Tube-You or you’re a social media influencer. Sometimes out of nowhere comes a degrading comment, criticism or even hate talk. Maybe its publicly posted on social media, maybe it’s in a personal email or maybe they call you out on a Facebook live.

We all know how this feels.  Incidents such as these can really be a morale killer and can really be a downer.

How do we overcome the criticism, the trolls, the people looking to hurt, or maybe even the people who mean well but still cause harm to our business??
